The extremely positive response to the outstanding cut-price season ticket offers before the end of May has resulted in a quarter of the 1,000 minimum target going in the first fortnight.
The ticket office reported on Friday that around 250 of the bargains had been snapped up - and there is still a month to go for YOU to back the Bees and help chairman Tony Kleanthous and manager Paul Fairclough to retain star players.
The season ticket bargain buys with massive reductions in all areas of the stadium - follows the decision to freeze all prices at Underhill for a third successive season.
"For a promotion like this to be worthwhile, we need to sell at least 1,000 season tickets and go for a break-even attendance of 3,000", said PR consultant Dennis Signy on behalf of the chairman and the directors.
The average home attendance at Underhill this season is 2,147, a DECREASE of five per cent on last year. The missing numbers are quite clearly home fans, with the club having to give away hundreds of free tickets to youngsters at times to bolster 1,300 - 1,500 paying customers.
The attractive new bargain offers, which follow repeated calls for club to improve its' marketing policies, means that a season ticket now works out for adults at only £8.50 A GAME. Let me repeat that.... £8.50 A GAME.
A club statement said: "Without achieving the season ticket sales target, it will be almost impossible to hold on to our better players".
Although the club has said that there is no need to sell players and that Barnet FC is financially secure, the Football League operates a squad budget in League 2 so player salaries are directly linked to attendances, low attendances mean low salaries which make it impossible to hold onto your best players as they will earn considerably more elsewhere. Don't forget that there is no income now until July and players still have to be paid in the close season.
As has been reported, chairman Tony Kleanthous has already turned down two bids from Championship clubs for 20-year-old Albert Adomah ... he is hoping for more support in season ticket sales in the month ahead to enable him to keep resisting.
