Ashley Carew is a former Gillingham YTS player who joined Barnet in May 2007. Having spent a year away from football after leaving the Gills, he joined Beckenham Town and then Fisher Athletic and impressed Paul Fairclough in a recent trial. In the trial he played out wide on the right and this is the position he has gone about making his own at Underhill. Ashley is a very good crosser of the ball and has the confidence to take on the full-back. Scored his first League goal at Stockport County in October.
