A second half comeback by struggling Wrexham compunded Barnet to a 2-1 defeat at Underhill on Saturday.
The Bees, who made four changes to the starting line-up with Ross Flitney returning in goal, Ismail Yakubu returning at centre back Joe Devera, Liam Hatch partnering Oliver Allen in attack and Jason Puncheon returning to the side at the expense of Barry Cogan, were leading at the interval 1-0 courtesy of an Allen strike but succumbed after the break to two Lee McEvilly goals.
It was Wrexham who started the game the brighter of the two sides seeing a lot of the early posession, with Barnet looking hesistant at the back.
However, it was Barnet who had the better of the chances in the opening fifteen minutes with Jason Puncheon twice having strikes at goal.
With 18 minutes on the clock Wrexham had their first strike at goal when McEvilly struck well wide whilst nine minutes later Allen saw his shot held following a fine piece of skill on the edge of the area.
A minute later, though, Allen was to give Barnet the lead with their best move of the game. Hatch broke free down the Barnet left, and despite being fouled the referee played a good advantage, allowing Hatch to break into the penalty. The ball cannoned off of Lee Roche, into the path of Allen who cut back onto his left foot before placing the ball past the despairing dive of Michael Ingham into the goalkeepers bottom right hand corner.
Simon King was then lucky not to be shown a red card in the 35th minute after the assistant referee adjudged that he was not the last man following a foul on Neil Roberts. From the resulting free kick McEvilly saw his strike tipped onto the crossbar from 20 yards by Flitney.
Dean Sinclair then missed a glorious chance to extending Barnet's lead six minutes before half time when he headed over from four yards following a Puncheon cross, whilst Bailey was unlucky in the 44th minute when his 25 yard free kick went inches wide of a post.
Wrexham began the second half the brighter of the two sides with Mark Jones twice having strikes at goal go wide but they were soon to be level in the 57th minute and it was no surprise that Jones was involved in the move.
His flicked pass found Llewellyn who laid the ball on to McEvilly, and from all of 25 yards his shot flew past Flitney into the goalkeepers top left hand corner.
Barnet began to lose their shape and just three minutes later they were to find themselves a goal behind and it was McEvilly once more with the goal when he rose unmarked to send his looping header past Flitney from 10 yards.
The Bees continued to look frustrated with themselves and Wrexham were defending resolutely restricting chances for Paul Fairclough's side.
In the 69th minute, though, Barnet had a superb chance to level the scores when a fine turn by Allen on the edge of the box saw him find a yard of space, before he released the ball through to Gross who, from eight yards out, saw his shot parried away by Ingham.
Puncheon then saw a strike held, whilst at the other end Roberts saw his shot easily gathered by Flitney.
Barnet nearly feel further behind in the 82nd minute when a low cross by McEvilly from the right eluded Yakubu but at the back post Llewellyn hit the post from six yards.
Jeff Whitley then headed wide for the away side three minutes later but it was Hatch who was to miss an easier chance for Barnet two minutes from time when his header from five yards went the wrong side of a post following a deep Bailey free kick.
The referee added on four minutes of added time but apart from a late scramble in the Wrexham box, the Bees were to create no further chances and they suffered defeat against their North Wales opponents.
