IN A CLASS OF THEIR OWN

A team of ten 15-year-olds at Ravenscroft School, Barnet, will sit in judgement on the Barnet players this season in a unique partnership link-up.
Manager Paul Fairclough revealed the plan after receiving a cheque for £3,640 from Peter Williamson, chairman of the Barnet FC Supporters Association, at their annual meeting in the Durham Suite at Underhill on Thursday.
The money will go towards providing the Prozone scheme - the manager opted for that when BFCSA offered to provide equipment for the team - and assistant manager Ian Hendon will be at Ravenscroft for training sessions next Tuesday and Wednesday.
The idea is for DVDs of a Saturday game to be delivered to Ravenscroft for the 15-year-old pupils and for them to each spend nine minutes in an IT suite on the Monday decoding the match, with their analysis made available to the management team and players at the training ground on Tuesday.
The deputy headmaster of Ravenscroft, Minos Perdios, accompanied Paul Fairclough to the BFCSA to help demonstrate the Prozone system and explain the benefits.
Peter Williamson said: "We are pleased to be able to donate the money to the football club to help assist the playing side.
"It is great that the club can forge links with a local school and create a win win situation for both parties".
Let's hope that the Ravenscroft boys will be reporting an analysing win win games by the Barnet boys!
