CHAIRMAN JOINS LEAGUE BOARD
Posted on: Tue 24 Jun 2008
Tony Kleanthous, chairman of Barnet for the past 13 years, has been voted onto the Football League board of directors.
Mr Kleanthous, who has been an associate director, replaces Wycombe Wanderers chairman Ivor Beeks as the League 2 representative on the eight-strong board. He topped the poll in a three-cornered vote against Mr Beeks and another candidate.
The election is for a three year period, subject to promotion and relegation.
The vote recognises the contribution Mr Kleanthous has made behind the scenes since Barnet won promotion back to the League in 2005. He was previously a director of the then Nationwide Conference.
