CHAIRMAN ON THE MEND
Due to speculation about the health of chairman Tony Kleanthous, the club has decided to issue a statement saying that he is recuperating after several weeks of illness and admission to hospital.
Spokesman Dennis Signy said: "There is no cause for concern. The chairman thanks those who have offered their best wishes but wants everyone to know that he is currently recuperating and does not want any fuss.
"He felt unwell for weeks with a chest infection before being admitted to hospital and found to have a blood clot on his lung and double pneumonia.
"He was released from hospital last week and, while he should have been at home in bed resting on Saturday, he could not resist attending the final home game of the season.....arriving at the start of the game and leaving almost immediately after the final whistle. I am sure that the 2-1 victory was a tonic for him.
"He has kept his finger on the pulse of Barnet FC and, even during his hospital stay was dealing with the season ticket campaign and enquiries from one Premiership club and three in the Championship for Albert Adomah - so far resisting all offers even though one club has for the third time increased their offer".
