FAB FOUR SET TO ROCK
Posted on: Fri 11 Apr 2008
Josh Wright will NOT return against Bury tomorrow or at Rochdale next Tuesday because of a chest infection - but Paul Fairclough reckons that the personnel who drew 1-1 away to Bradford City on Tuesday can "go and express themselves".
With any fears of relegation over with five games to go, the manager said: "This is a really important game for us ... the pressure is off. We can approach the game with enthusiasm and optimism and go all out for another lucrative three points".
Times group football writer Paul Wreyford, who follows Barnet home and away, is forecasting that Bees fans could be in for a treat in the final few weeks of the season.
He wrote after the midweek game at Bradford: "It is up front where the most exciting things are happening. In Albert Adomah, Adam Birchall, Anthony Thomas and Jason Puncheon the Bees have an attacking force that has the potential to be one of the best in League 2.
"The hosts (at Valley Parade) were mesmerised by the pace and trickery of the fab four during a one-sided first 45 minutes, perhaps Barnet's best of the season".
With Wright withdrawn by Charlton and skipper Ismail Yakubu, Kenny Gillet, goalkeeper Rob Beckwith and Kieron St. Aimie, who has an ankle injury, ruled out, Fairclough is likely to stick with an unchanged side against Bury. That should still attract the scouts to Underhill.
No change could mean Joe Devera at right back, Michael Leary in central defence and Max Porter, who has earned rave notices from midfield in the last two games, backing up the "fab four" of 12 - goal top scorer Birchall, 10-goal Puncheon, five-goal Adomah and four-goal Thomas.
Jordan Parkes, the England U19 full back who has been on loan from Watford, is likely to be on the bench against Bury before he returns to Vicarage Road after the game
