Barnet make the short trip to Brentford on Saturday but there will be absolutely no intentional Bee related puns from barnetfc.com this weekend. Team news will follow shortly.

Both sides are searching for their first wins of the new season, with the home side having collected two points from their first two games against Notts County and Mansfield. Like Barnet, Brentford were knocked out of the Carling Cup at the first hurdle by a Championship side, losing at home to Bristol City.

Barnet have one point to show from their first two outings, coming from the 0-0 draw with Morecambe on the opening day of the season. Joe Devera and Neal Bishop miss the game through suspension.

The last time the two sides met was back in 2003 at Underhill when Brentford were victorious on penalties in a highly entertaining 3-3 draw in the LDV Vans Trophy. Guy Lopez, Soloman Henry and Liam Hatch were on the scoresheet that night, with the opener from Lopez being voted Goal Of The Season by supporters.

In total, there have been eleven matches played between the two clubs, the first being the famous 5-5 draw in Barnet's first ever League Cup appearance, coming the Tuesday after the 7-4 opening day defeat against Crewe Alexandra. Brentford would win the return leg by three goals to nil.

In the same season, Barnet were 6-3 winners at Griffin Park in the Auto Windscreens Shield including two goals each for Mark Carter and Gary Bull.
