Club captain Lee Harrison, who has played 285 games for Barnet in two spells at the club over the past eight years, has asked www.barnetfc.com to pass on the thanks of the players for the support given to the side by the 480 travelling Barnet supporters at Norwich on Tuesday.
Lee said: "In my time at the club - and I wasn't around when the Bees went to Old Trafford - I have never known such fantastic backing for the lads as we got at Carrow Road and, on behalf of the players, I would like to say a big 'Thank you' to everyone who was there.
"It's not easy to keep singing, chanting and applauding when your side concedes five goals in the first half ... but the players took heart and, hopefully, paid something back with their second half performance".
Norwich City manager Peter Grant, who criticised his side for their display after the interval when the Bees pulled back two goals, said that a fairer reflection of the scoreline might have been 6-4.
After the praise heaped on the 296 Barnet fans who travelled to Morecambe at the weekend for the sporting gesture of the 130 foot banner provided by Phil Langdell, of Daylight Signs, welcoming the home side to the Football League for the first time, there is no doubt that the star rating for both games goes to the travelling supporters.
