Former Luton trainee Michael Leary, who has made 50 Football League appearances with five clubs, signed for Barnet on Tuesday evening and will join his new team-mates when they report back for training in the morning.
The 24-year-old central midfielder, who is Paul Fairclough's sixth signing of the close season, played 11 games (17 more as a substitute) and scored three goals after joining Luton Town in 2002.
The Ealing-born youngster had 12 games on loan with Bristol Rovers in 2005 (one more as a substitute) and 12 more with Walsall last year, three more as a substitute.
After another loan spell with Torquay United, where he made two substitute appearances, he went to Brentford last season and played 17 League games.
The 5 foot 10 inches tall Leary, released by Luton, said after signing: "I am very happy to be here at Underhill and look forward to kick starting my career off again.
"I am looking forward to the challenge".
