Simon King Signs For Gillingham
Barnet FC has announced that a fee of £200,000 has been agreed with League One side Gillingham for the transfer of defender Simon King.
King, 24, has completed a medical and the formalities of a three-year deal at Priestfield and the paperwork for the transfer, which is to include some small bonuses, is set to be finalised on Tuesday.
The club are disappointed to lose a player of his calibre, he has been a consistent performer for the Bees with over 150 appearances under his belt, but recognise his desire to play at a higher level and he leaves with the best wishes of club management and supporters alike.
Discussions took place between the two club chairmen at the Football League AGM in Portugal whilst the Gillingham manager met with the player and his agent in the UK to thrash out personal terms.
Barnet FC would like to thank Simon for his excellent service to the club over the last four seasons and wish him the best for his future career at Gillingham.
