| KEVIN MAKES DRAM SADDLERS RE-DEBUT |
| Walsall 4 v 1 Barnet New signing Kevin Harper scored twice on his debut as a 4-1 win against Barnet ensured Walsall remain on course for automatic promotion. On loan from Stoke and in his second spell with the Saddlers, the winger took his second-half chances superbly to end Walsall's dismal run of three successive defeats. But a shock had seemed possible when Barnet took the lead in the 22nd minute, Ollie Allen scoring his second goal in as many matches for the Bees when home defender Scott Dann slipped. Walsall were level in the 33rd minute when Kevin Cooper, on loan from Cardiff, swept over a cross which Barnet skipper Ian Hendon diverted into his own net. Walsall skipper Michael Dobson headed them in front after 55 minutes then Harper made it three in the 65th minute from Martin Butler's pass and volleyed the fourth after 77 minutes following a corner. Barnet missed their chance to get back into the game when Walsall goalkeeper Clayton Ince spilled the ball but Simon King saw his close-range shot blocked by Anthony Gerrard. |
