Andy Procter is an unlikely match-winner, but it was the 23-year-old who had the last word as Accrington Stanley grabbed their first win at Underhill.
The midfielder struck his first Stanley goal in over two years to give the Reds all three points in an incident-packed clash with Barnet
After disappointment against Chester, boss John Coleman elected to make changes to his side, with Alan Rogers returning from suspension and a debut for Mauro Almeida, with Leam Richardson and Michael Welch dropping to the bench.
Rommy Boco broke from midfield and slipped the ball into the left channel for Stuart Fleetwood, who calmly beat goalkeeper Rob Burch only to see the flag raised on the near side and his goal disallowed for offside.
The Bees had a formidable record at home, having won their last five league games at Underhill, but Paul Fairclough's side showed no signs of domination.
Striker Adam Birchall was clearly Barnet's dangerman, and Stanley keeper Przemyslaw Kazimierczak had to be alert to repel his snap shot on the half hour mark. With Rogers and Todd operating as wing backs, Stanley mounted counter attacks, and from one such venture won a corner on the right hand side.
Rogers swung it in towards the penalty spot, and keeper Burch could only punch out to Jay Harris who returned the ball towards the corner flag.
The second delivery flew towards Williams at the back post, but the defender couldn't connect with it after he was shoved in the back by Ian Hendon.
Referee Dean Whitestone had no hesitation pointing to the spot, and booked the Barnet captain.
After a long wait, Todd dispatched the penalty, firing the ball into the bottom right corner sending Burch the wrong way and netting his seventh goal of the season.
But the lead was short lived, and just five minutes later the home side were level. With 44 minutes gone, the lively Cogan got to the byline on the right and crossed. Kazimierczak got a hand to it, but the ball was returned to Cogan, who evaded Almeida to cross again.
This time, Birchall connected and found the net despite a deflection off the Polish keeper.
When the second half began, Barnet were keen to pick up where they left off, and made a number of chances.
Kazimierczak made a number of saves, and Williams and Phil Edwards were instrumental in keeping the ball out.
On 52 minutes, Coleman switched Harris for Procter, and brought more steel to the Stanley midfield.
And the newcomer almost made an immediate impact four minutes later when he fed Todd with a fine cross from the left, but the former Burton man couldn't get the right first touch, and the ball was cleared.
Paul Fairclough retaliated and introduced Liam Hatch for Puncheon to give his side more physical presence in attack.
And briefly Stanley's defence were distracted as Richard Graham's ball in from the left found Birchall inside the box, but Kazimierczak responded with a magnificent flying save to deny the former Arsenal youngster.
The afternoon only lasted 16 minutes for Hatch, who was shown a straight red card for retaliating after being fouled by Almeida.
But the disadvantage was not immediately apparent as Kazimierczak was again tested, parrying Nicky Bailey's strike over the bar on 82 minutes.
The stage was set for Stanley to snatch the points, and that's exactly what they did.
Two minutes later Shaun Whalley whipped in a corner from the left which didn't beat the first man, but Tony Grant was first to the clearance and with excellent disguise on the ball floated it to Procter at the back post.
Seeming to relish the lead role, Procter chested it down and hammered it low past Burch.
Substitutes Andy Mangan and Whalley both failed to put the game beyond doubt late on, with Burch twice saving with his legs, and in stoppage time Barnet were reduced to nine after Cogan was shown a second yellow for a late challenge.
The final whistle was met by hoots of derision from the home faithful, but there was nothing but elation from the away contingent as Stanley grabbed their third away win of the season.
