Barnet Football Club. - This club commenced their engagements for the present season with a match v Hendon Rovers, on the ground of the latter on September 29^th.After a pleasant game the home team proved the victors by two goals to nil.Wilson showed up in good form for the visitors.

Cup match - To contest the first round for the London Junior Association Cup the above club journeyed to Balham to meet Magpie Football Club.After a little play the Magpie scored first with a very sharp shot.This put the visitors on their mettle, so that before half-time four goals stood to their credit, obtained by Thompson, Hill and Paton (two).

After half time the greater staying power of the visitors showed itself in keeping the leather within their opponents quarters.

The Magpie forwards occasionally broke through and menaced the Barnet goal.But Taylor was on the look-out and used his arms and legs freely in averting any danger.However one good run followed by a fast low shot added a goal to the Magpie score.But by the time the whistle was blown for time Jessop, Hill and Sweeting had notched three more to Barnet.Who thus won a pleasant game by seven goals to two.

Barnet v Hatfield

A match was played between the above clubs on Saturday last, October 13^th, at Hatfield.

The game was fairly fast throughout, the ball often travelling from one goal to the other.The Hatfield men however, at the last moment failing too score, generally through erratic shots.

Barnet played a fairly combined game, though there were weak points, which must be remedied if they intend to keep in the cup competition.The result of the game was one goal to the credit of Hatfield and seven to that of Barnet, kicked by Sweeting (3), Baker, Hochstrasser, Thompson and Hill.
